SBIC Student Travel Grants

SBIC supports the participation of PhD and postdoc students to BIC conferences (ICBIC, EuroBIC, AsBIC, LABIC) and other meetings and workshops in the biological inorganic chemistry field. The amount and number of travel grants may vary depending on the location of the meeting.

Applications are always handled by the respective conference organizers, and hence details on the application procedure, e.g. deadlines, amount, or usage, can be found at the respective conference websites.

General criteria and guidelines

• Applicant must be working toward a Ph.D. or equivalent degree at the time of the meeting.
• Applicant must present a poster or oral contribution at the meeting
• Applicant must be a member of SBIC to qualify for grant; membership registration concomitant with application is allowed
• Awardees are announced prior to the respective conference
• Awards can be used only for travel or accommodation at the respective meeting
• If paid in advance, awards must be repaid if attendance at the meeting is cancelled
• Awardees are selected according to excellence, but also to geographical distribution and other factors that may apply. Also only a limited number of awards is given to any particular research group
